“My son came to Liz with some fairly serious delayed learning as a result of a long history of glue ear. I have been amazed at how much he has caught up in the year we have been with Liz. She has an amazing ability to work with him where he is and to bring out the best in him.” ~ Di Sutherland
“When our son started with Liz we were desperate to see an improvement in his marks and ability to cope in school. What we didn’t expect was how much we, as parents, were going to gain from these sessions. We understand better how our son learns, why he behaves like he does and why some activities are harder for him than for others. Our time with Liz helped us to better assist him and to be a lot more compassionate with regards to his scholastic challenges.
Liz has helped our son gain his confidence back and gave him practical skills to implement in class and during home work times that really makes sense to him and help him keep up. He is happier, more relaxed and so much more confident than he was a few years ago and that is infinitely more valuable than any academic achievement. She has given him skills for life!” ~ Alneré Turck
“As a family, we have found Liz insightful, compassionate and understanding. Liz is able to professionally and intuitively read into and advise on the requirements for the overall approach to helping our son, and the necessary inputs and the dynamic nature of learning as the process develops.
Liz’s attitude is one of acceptance and constant learning, which makes her vast knowledge and experience encouraging and not intimidating. Luke has and is responding and growing under her instruction and guidance. She provides so much more than educational assistance – she provides life skills and tools to help each one of us on our education journeys.” ~ Nikki Andrew
“I recall the first time meeting Liz and thinking, “This lady gets kids, she clearly has a passion for them and really wants to help”. My husband on the other hand thought it was a load of hogwash and that there was nothing wrong with where our boy was in his development. Much to his disapproval we started to see Liz, and how our lives – especially Nicholas’s – have transformed!
When I look at my boy’s development over the last 2 years I get emotional and teary-eyed. His language skills have improved so dramatically, from fumbling for words and not knowing how to clearly articulate his feelings, to now being confident in the manner in which he expresses himself. He even sounds cocky at times!
Liz has empowered Shaun and me in being able to look at what our son has to offer in a different light, so much so that we are able to steer and support the path that seems to suit him. (He has the most incredible imagination and has started to put pen to paper and is writing short stories!) I will also attribute certain positive marital changes to Liz.
She has taught, me especially, the importance of having a unified approach when dealing with your children and affirming each other as husband and wife. Liz is sassy, fun and has a way of pouting her lips that makes you smile just thinking about it. My Nicholas loves Liz and I almost dread the time when we will have to end this road, but we are a long way from there and I still look forward to our weekly sessions.” ~ Hayley Roux
“Liz has been a great inspiration to Ella and to us. Ella’s confidence and general approach towards school work and tests has greatly improved. She is starting to read with more enthusiasm and understanding. This comprehension of the English language then spills over to her other subjects at school. We understand it is a process and look forward to what Liz has to offer further. Ella has benefitted greatly!” ~ Carol Parker
“Liz Aspeling has had a huge impact on my children’s academic results and classroom coping skills. She initially only saw one of my sons, but after I saw the unbelievable improvement in his work and his ability to follow instructions, I decided that it would be unfair for him to receive these skills without offering them to my other children, too.
Three of my children have benefited from her training, teaching and advice. My children have their own sets of strengths and weaknesses which Liz has recognised, nurtured and improved. She provides a safe space where each child can talk about their personal concerns and celebrate their successes without being judged.
Academically, she goes back to the basics and makes sure that the building blocks are understood by the child. One of the most important things that she has impressed on my children is not only the importance of reading but understanding what you are reading and understanding what the teacher is asking – comprehension in short.
Liz has also given my children the confidence to ask questions in a classroom environment. She has taught them the importance of reading and comprehending, the skill of managing their anxiety in test and exam situations, and the importance of checking their work, as well as time management. I would recommend Liz a hundred times over!” ~ Hayley Kirsten
“Liz has created a safe and comfortable haven in which our daughter can be herself and grow in confidence. Liz is astute at identifying the areas of weakness and tailoring her lesson plans to rewind and fill the holes, whilst building strategies for one’s child to take forward. Like all other parents, our child is the dearest thing in our world.
With Liz’s guidance, our daughter has become more confident and motivated. Liz’s efforts have proven to be invaluable to both Milly and us, too!” ~Rahul and Rosalind Hughes
